Homicide Investigation in the 2200 block of East 22nd Street

The Oakland Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on August 23, 2021, around 1:00 PM, in the 2200 block of East 22nd Street. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting. Moments later, an area hospital advised of a victim arriving with multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. His identity is being withheld pending notification to next-of-kin.
