Homicide Investigation in the 350 block of Grand Avenue

On January 20, 20201, at approximately 4:06 PM, a ShotSpotter was activated in the 350 block of Grand Avenue. Shortly after, the Oakland Police Department Communications Division received calls of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival officers, located two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew were additionally on the scene and provided medical treatment. Unfortunately, one victim succumbed to his injury. The other victim was transported to an area hospital.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent homicide. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin. Anyone with information can contact the Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the TIP LINE at 238-7950.
