Public Safety Advisory: OPD Seeks Help in Identifying Individual in Attempted Rape

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating an attempted rape and robbery. On August 28, 2022, just after 9:30 AM, Oakland Police Officers responded to a report of the crime in the 2900 block of Parker Avenue.

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating an attempted rape and robbery. On August 28, 2022, just after 9:30 AM, Oakland Police Officers responded to a report of the crime in the 2900 block of Parker Avenue.

The victim told officers they were walking in the 2900 block of Parker Avenue when an individual armed with a firearm approached from behind. The individual tackled the victim to the ground and began sexually assaulting them. The victim screamed for help and this caused the individual to run away with the victim’s cell phone.

This appears to be a random act of violence. OPD needs your help solving this case. The armed individual is described as a Black male in his 30’s, 5’10” tall. He was wearing, a blue beanie, a red jacket, dark pants, and red shoes.
