Dena joined the Office of the City Auditor in April 2017. She brings years of management experience, policy skills and a passion for equity, collaboration, and inclusion to the City of Oakland.
She holds a B.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master’s in Public Policy from Mills College with an academic focus on racial equity and increasing community participation in policy-making.
Dena managed a Law Firm in Berkeley for several years prior to attending graduate school. She was also a program coordinator for the University of Berkeley’s Institute of International Studies, managing the Workshop on Environmental Politics Program.
When she isn’t working, Dena is trying to keep up with her two children, hiking in the Oakland Hills, and spending time with her friends enjoying Oakland--a City she looks forward to serving for many years to come.
