Hi I’m Ed Silva - Volunteer

I am a full-time volunteer member of the Emergency Management Services Division. My focus is in volunteer engagement and workforce development.

Prior to joining the EMSD I spent 15 years with the Alameda County American Red Cross in Disaster Services. A recipient of The Presidential Volunteer Service Award and the Clara Barton Honor Award, I wore many hats such as the Disaster Chair, Response Administrator, Workforce Coordinator among many others.

I'm originally from Lima, Peru. Oakland has been my home for over 30 years -- it’s where I built a business and raised my family.
