The Redistricting Commission is currently drafting its Charter Report which will document the Commission's formation and explain the basis on which the Commission made its decisions in achieving compliance with the criteria listed in Section 220(E) in the Charter of the City of Oakland. The Charter Report will incorporate outreach efforts compiled in an outreach report prepared by the Commission's outreach consultant, A draft of the outreach report can be viewed here,

The working draft of the Charter Report has been handed off from the first Commission writing team consisting of three members to the second Commission writing team consisting of three different Commission members. On February 23, 2022, the Oakland Redistricting Commission voted to approve Resolution No. 22-004 to adopt Draft Map F5 which describes the new district boundaries for the City Council and School Board. Final Map Plan F5 is now available. Draft Map F5 and prior draft maps can be viewed on draft district map proposals.
