The Main Library (125 14th St) will be open seven days a week; 15 neighborhood branches will be open six days per week and until 8:00 p.m. two nights per week.
Beginning the week of April 19, the Oakland Public Library will open 16 locations for indoor OPL Express service. Patrons will be able to access modified library services including browsing, checkout, and computer use during limited business hours.
Director of Library Services
Jamie Turbak was named Director of Library Services for the City of Oakland on January 18, 2019 by Oakland City Administrator Sabrina Landreth. She had served as interim director since March 2018 following the retirement of previous director Gerry Garzón. She becomes OPL’s 13th director since the City incorporated public library services in 1878.
