Downtown Oakland Specific Plan (DOSP) Zoning Meeting 1: Land Use Activities

This meeting of the Planning & Building was held on May 11, 2022 at 6:00pm

The Downtown Oakland Specific Plan's draft zoning amendments were released in late April 2022 for public review. The City will hold three informational meetings on key aspects of the amendments. This first meeting will focus on land use activities.

Topics will include:

  • What activities (such as housing, shops, industry and office uses) are allowed or prioritized in which parts of Downtown Oakland?
  • Where will the new zoning changes encourage new housing and dense development?
  • How do we encourage arts and cultural uses, or fill empty retail spaces?
