Mayor Libby Schaaf Welcomes AltCar Expo Green Car & Energy Show to Oakland

Oakland, CA – Today, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf welcomes AltCar
Expo, the nation’s leading forum for green car ride and drive, public
education and demonstration of the latest green technology vehicles, to
Oakland City Hall.
AltCar Expo is presenting the most extensive array of green vehicles in
one place, including: electric, hybrid electric, hydrogen, natural gas,
propane and bio-diesel vehicles. Most are available to test drive and
many may even be purchased during the Expo. The event will feature
vehicle debuts, lectures and demonstration opportunities.
“We are pleased to host AltCar Expo in Oakland,” said Mayor Libby
Schaaf. “Creating sustainable transportation is something we’ve made
great progress on, and we look forward to more advances in the years to
come as the state launches new infrastructure, which will help people fuel
vehicles with cleaner solutions for the environment.”
The vehicle and booth display areas are open to the public from 10 a.m. -
6 p.m. in Frank H. Ogawa Plaza.

12:15 p.m. A “Tough” Look at Funding
A panel discussion moderated by Richard Battersby,
Equipment Manager for the City of Oakland and
Director of the East Bay Clean Cities Coalition, featuring
the Air Resources Board, Bay Area Air Quality
Management District, the Bay Area Climate
Collaborative and the California Energy Commission.
The AltCar Conference is co-presented by City of Oakland Public
Works and East Bay Clean Cities. Event partners include: Honda, Nissan,
Mercedes-Benz, Smart, San Francisco Clean Cities, Silicon Valley Clean
Cities, Breathe California, Association of Bay Area Governments and the
Transportation Sustainability Research Center at UC Berkeley.
