The City of Oakland Head Start Program sites will remain closed through Sunday, May 3rd, in line with the extension of the Bay Area's shelter-in-place order. We remain committed to supporting our local and regional communities by slowing the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Even though children are at low-risk for COVID-19, closing the program can help limit the local transmission of the virus to our more vulnerable community members, while also providing critical time and capacity for our healthcare system to help those affected by the virus.

If you need support to care for your family during this time, please let us know how we can help. Your Family Advocate or Home Based Visitor are available by phone. If you are concerned that you or someone you know is ill, call your medical provider.

We will continue to share updates as we receive them. Please visit the City website for City updates https://www.oaklandca.gov/news/2020/new-coronavirus-covid-19-update

If you cannot reach your family advocate, center director or home based visitor and you have any questions or concerns please call the Head Start front desk on 510-238-3165.
