On August 23rd, 2020, at approximately 12:15 AM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the area of Pearmain Street and 105th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to an area hospital. One of the victims succumbed to their injuries. A third gunshot victim arrived at a local hospital and is in stable condition.
A related hit and run with injuries occurred as a result of the shooting, which is being investigated by the Traffic Unit.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
