It is important that we prepare our homes, properties, parks, and city for wildfire season. In order to best prepare, I have partnered with Councilmembers Dan Kalb and Loren Taylor in order to host a virtual 'town hall' on wildfire prevention today Monday, May 11, 5:30-7pm.
Oakland Fire Department officials will be on hand to explain the new vegetation management inspection process this year, wildfire prevention activities in general, and update residents on OFD activities in light of the Covid-19 emergency.
Also participating is Doug Mosher, director of the Oakland Firesafe Council's new Oakland Community Preparedness and Response (OCPR) program. The OCPR program was funded by dollars I fought for last budget cycle as well as a matching grant and they're already doing incredible work!
The town hall was broadcasted on Zoom on Monday, May 11 at 5:30 pm. You may view the recorded meeting at the link HERE.
