Homicide Investigation in the 1100 block of 77th Avenue

On April 7th, 2021, at approximately 8:57 PM the Communications Division received reports of a shooting in the 1100 block of 77th Avenue. Officers responded to the scene and located a female adult victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew additionally responded to the scene and provide medical treatment. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin. Anyone with information can contact the Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the TIP LINE at (510) 238-7950.
