About

Thornhill Drive paving is being jointly delivered with the much-anticipated Safe Routes to Schools Project for Thornhill and Montclair Elementary schools. The project includes a new sidewalk that connects Moraga Avenue to Grisborne Avenue (west), a paved foot path on the shoulder between Alhambra Lane and the Public Stairway, pedestrian flashing beacons and a raised median at the Thornhill/Grisborne (east) crosswalk, signal equipment upgrades and traffic calming features at the Thornhill/Mountain intersection, and the paving of Thornhill Drive between Moraga Avenue and Pinehaven Road. The contractor Notice to Proceed date is March 8, 2021 and the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of Summer 2022.

The project is being managed by our Safe Streets Traffic Engineering team, and the project manager is Jing Jing Lin.

UPDATE: We are aware of an issue with uneven pavement on the north leg of Mountain Boulevard at its intersection with Thornhill Drive. We are working with the contractor to remedy the situation while posting signs to alert drivers to proceed with due caution.
