The City of Oakland’s Housing Resource Center offers a streamlined, one-stop approach to housing services and resource referral for Oakland homeowners, tenants, and landlords. The Center is also partnering with other public and nonprofit agencies to enhance access to a broad range of housing-related services for Oaklanders.

Information and Referrals

- Referral to City, nonprofit, private, and other public resources

- Housing advocacy to help Center customers navigate access to housing services

-Streamlined information to City-funded housing services including

(1) Foreclosure prevention and mitigation assistance for homeowners

(2) Loans and grants for residential rehabilitation, home repair and energy retrofits for eligible residents

(3) Information about first-time homebuyers’ assistance and workshops

(4) Tenant petitions and landlord/tenant mediation through the Rent Adjustment Program

- Listings for shelters, transitional and affordable housing

- County programs for healthy housing services

- Home repair, weatherization, and energy efficiency services

- Financial resources for homeowners and tenants

- Counseling and legal services for tenants

- Landlord support resources

- Housing counseling for predatory or subprime lending

- Understanding the Relocation Ordinance

- Homelessness and dealing with criminal records

- Resources for paying utilities, back rent and help with deposits
