As the City’s only open admission shelter, we take in every animal who comes through our doors. Adopting from Oakland Animal Services not only helps one lucky animal, it also makes space for the next animal who needs our help.
To adopt a rabbit or other animal, come into the shelter during our open adoption hours, no appointment needed.
You may print and fill out an adoption application OR come to the shelter to fill out an application. Adoptions will be done on a first come, first served basis. Please view available animals and then visit the shelter to turn in your application.
