The Public Ethics Commission is charged with enforcing Oakland’s Sunshine Ordinance, which seeks to provide the public with greater opportunities to access public meetings and information.

Oakland's Sunshine Ordinance clarifies and supplements the Ralph M. Brown Act and the California Public Records Act to provide the public with greater opportunities to access public meetings and information.
